Charles Barkley Believes Stephen Curry Is Tied With Isiah Thomas On The Best Point Guards Of All-Time List: “He’s At The Table In The Hall Of Fame With Isiah Thomas As Probably The Best Point Guards.”

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors went through a rough patch after Kevin Durant decided to leave the team after the 2019 NBA Finals. It felt like the days of the Warriors dominating the league were finally over, and fans will see a much more competitive league now.

Well, for what it’s worth, that’s what we saw for two seasons. With the Warriors struggling without their best stars, other teams started to flourish. So much so that many began to believe that Curry would never win another ring in his career.

But in the 2021-22 NBA season, Curry and the Warriors made a stunning comeback. The Dubs dominated the regular season and did something similar in the postseason as well. They were rewarded for their hard work as they ended up winning the 2022 NBA Championship.

This meant Curry and the Warriors won their fourth NBA title in the last eight NBA seasons. It’s a truly remarkable feat. Additionally, Curry finally added an NBA Finals MVP award to his trophy cabinet.

A lack of an NBA Finals MVP award was something that many held against Curry for years. They believed that until he could win that, he would never truly be considered one of the all-time great point guards in the league.

Speaking of that topic, NBA legend turned analyst Charles Barkley went on to say that Curry is now the best point guard in NBA history, tied with Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas.

Via NBC Sports:

“He’s one of the greatest ever, somewhere between 10 and 20. I said after he won this one, that puts him on the list with Isiah Thomas. He’s at the table in the Hall of Fame with Isiah Thomas as probably the best point guards. Those two guys are probably the two best points to ever play the game.

“He’s one of the greatest players we’ve ever had. He’s a great kid, too. It’s always fun to see him and be around him. He’s had an unbelievable career. I look at all these lists, he’s somewhere between 10 and 20. It just depends on your preference. But he’s had an unbelievable career. And it’s not over yet.”

Chuck believes Curry has finally reached the level of Zeke after winning the fourth NBA Championship of his career.

While it’s great to see Barkley praising Curry, one might claim that Steph has already surpassed Thomas on the all-time list. When you take a quick look at Curry’s resume, it is certainly better than Zeke’s.
