Charles Barkley Criticizes The High Volume Of 3s In Today’s NBA: “The Problem We Got In The NBA, We Got Bums Taking Threes.”

We’ve seen the game of basketball evolve in the 2010s decade, especially with the appearance of players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The Golden State Warriors duo took the league by storm, making a huge impact on the association with their 3-pointers.

This decade, these players are considered legends, especially Curry who broke Ray Allen’s 3-PT record this week. The point guard is the face of the most recent revolution in the NBA, inspiring players to expand their game and add a long-range shot to increase their value in the league.

This has worked fine for some stars, but not everybody is happy with the high volume of 3-pointers attempted every game. For instance, Charles Barkley criticized that a lot of players are taking 3s when they shouldn’t. Chuck says that only the great 3-point shooters should take these shots and nobody else.

“My problem is — I don’t want guys who can’t shooting shoot threes,” Barkley said Tuesday on TNT “Inside the NBA”. “That’s my problem with all the three-point shooting. I want Steph [Curry], Klay [Thompson], James [Harden], Kevin [Durant], I want all the great shooters. But the problem we got in the NBA — we got bums taking threes. That’s my problem with all the threes. Everybody can’t be a great three-point shooter. Please stop.”

To be fair, more players have started shooting 3s. Even centers are shooting long-range shots, trying to become floor spacers and add more weapons to their arsenal. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t, and the second cases are the ones that make Barkley says these comments.

As he pointed out, Curry, Thompson, Harden, Durant, Lillard and more have mastered this art. Not everybody can say the same and Chuck prefers those players to stick to what they can do properly and leave the 3-pointers to the experts.
