Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns will be determined to pick up a crucial road win against the Denver Nuggets to tie the series up 1-1.

CP3 looked like he was dressed to impress while entering the arena before the game, prompting Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA to compare him to another player who’s known to dress outlandishly when coming for games.

“Chris Paul thinks he Russell Westbrook tonight. He gonna have a good game.”

Russell Westbrook lived up to his bold fits with even bolder performances on the court when the Clippers needed him. Chris Paul hasn’t been the face of consistent production for the Suns, but the team needs that from him if they want to have a shot at beating the well-built and extremely deep Denver Nuggets in the second round.

What Do The Suns Need To Flip This Series?

Game 2 between the teams is currently underway and might be the crucial decider in where this series is headed. Denver’s home-court advantage is more significant than other teams due to the altitude affecting the conditioning of visiting players. Despite that, the Suns got off to a hot start in the first quarter and are leading the Nuggets 21-18 right now.

The Suns haven’t been running an organized offensive system, relying on their volume scorers in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to put up big numbers while CP3 sets the floor for them. Paul didn’t score in the first quarter but had 2 rebounds and 2 assists, impacting the game without getting the ball to fall through the hoop. Whether that will be enough over the next 3 quarters is something we’ll watch and find out in the next few hours.
