Surprisingly, Chris Bosh has big expectations for the Washington Wizards in the next season. After losing to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoff, the capital team enters an offseason trying to make the right moves to compete for a championship.
The Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat legend believes they can actually do so and even explained what they must do to reach this goal. Talking on ESPN’s The Jump, Bosh said that the Wizards can make a run at the championship as long as they bring the right piece for Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal.
“I think that the Wizards have what it takes to really compete for a championship. I don’t think it’s any question that with Russ and with Bradley that they have tremendous talent,” the 2-time champion said, via R.P. Salao of Clutch Points. “I think they need a head coach to come in there and really perform right away. … And I think sometimes their recommendation and their voices, I think they should be heard. They could put themselves in a very strong position, really like I said before, to compete for a championship in my mind. They’re right there.”

This is an interesting idea, to say the least. Most fans will say this is a bold take seeing the current Wizards roster and their struggles in the past couple of seasons. Having Russ and Bradley on the team gives them a push to compete for a playoff spot, but going deep and winning a championship seems like a little too much for this team.
After parting ways with Scott Brooks after their season ended, it’s time for new ideas at the Capitol One Arena. Bosh is convinced the right coach can take this team to the next level, going toe-to-toe with the East powerhouses like the Nets, Bucks, and Sixers.
