Chris Broussard Says Michael Jordan Is The GOAT: “LeBron Is Phenomenal, But Jordan Is No. 1, The GOAT. LeBron Is No. 2.”

The GOAT debate may have taken somewhat of a backseat this season considering that LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling mightily but it’s garnered everyone’s attention again over All-Star Weekend, after Michael Jordan and LeBron James were seen interacting with one another. The two have been named at No. 1 and No. 2 all-time respectively in the lists that have come up recently, but there are still those that disagree with that.

The media has always been divided on the topic, especially since LeBron James won with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the ones that believe Jordan is the GOAT are quite emphatic. This includes Chris Broussard, who laid down his point of view in no uncertain terms when talking on the show ‘First Things First’.

“Jordan is one of the few superstars that we’ve never seen him have that meltdown moment, we even saw Magic have it in the Tragic Johnson series against Boston in 1984, I believe it was. And obviously, LeBron had his against Dallas. Jordan lost, but he never really melted down, he was never the reason they lost… so that is part of the argument.”

“I once thought there was a time where LeBron would be viewed as the GOAT… What we do know though is that Michael Jordan dominated the league in a way that LeBron simply hasn’t… Jordan locked down the entire league when LeBron locked down one conference. That’s the difference… LeBron is phenomenal, but Jordan is No. 1, the GOAT. LeBron is No. 2.”

This debate can go on endlessly, however, it’s clear that the answer people come up with for the age-old question depends from person to person. LeBron’s all-round game compared to Jordan’s dominance on both ends of the floor is hard to dispute so as long as this debate lasts, it will likely come down to who had more championships, something that LeBron James will likely have to try and accomplish if he wants to be considered the GOAT.
