D’Angelo Russell Takes A Shot At Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris After 76ers-Timberwolves Game: “They Had Guys That Sat Out And Thought It Was Sweet To Come Back And Play Against Us. It Ain’t Sweet.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves spoiled Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris’ return to the court on Saturday night. The Philadelphia 76ers’ duo came back after several days sidelined, but the T-Wolves got the W in a 2OT thriller.

The Sixers had the last shot of the game, but Anthony Edwards blocked Joel Embiid’s game-winning attempt to give his side the 121-120 victory. Following the match, another Timberwolves star had some things to say about Embiid and Harris, throwing shade at the Sixers duo and making it clear it’s not easy to beat Minnesota.

“They had guys that sat out and thought it was sweet to come back and play against us. It ain’t sweet,” the 2019 All-Star told after the game.

With the win, Minnesota tied its record at 10-10 which ranks 7th in the Eastern Conference standings. The Sixers have the same record, but they’re 11th in the West, showing the differences between conferences.

In the past, Embiid had beef with Karl-Anthony Towns, but the two centers ended that feud after facing dramatic situations with the COVID-19 disease. Now, it seems like Russell is the one going after Joel, who’s yet to reply to D’Lo’s comments.

Philadelphia is trying to have a good 2021/22 season, even with the ongoing Ben Simmons saga. They have Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris back now, which is great news for Doc Rivers and co. It’s time to enter a good streak to climb positions in the standings, and having Embiid and Harris on the court should make that easier.

D’Angelo Russell finished the game with 35 points and 8 assists, leading the T-Wolves to the promised land. Embiid finished with 42 points and 14 rebounds in the Sixers’ loss, while Harris added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
