The Los Angeles Lakers were super busy around the NBA Trade Deadline in hopes of improving their roster during the final stretch of the 2022-23 season. The Purple and Gold did so by making a couple of trades around that time.

The biggest trade the Lakers made was acquiring D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt. It allowed the Lakers to bolster their roster by getting rid of Russell Westbrook’s hefty contract, which cleared spots for multiple players.

The Purple and Gold tried out a roster that featured the above-mentioned players alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis against the New Orleans Pelicans. The new-look Lakers roster dominated the Pelicans and registered an easy victory over them.

After seeing the dominant performance of the new roster, head coach Darvin Ham recently revealed that he plans to use that roster post the NBA All-Star break as well.

“We’re not gonna go crazy. We’ve already had a plethora of lineups and rotations, so we’re gonna settle in on what we did in this previous game going into the break.”

Darvin Ham has been criticized several times this season for his questionable strategies this season. But it feels like Ham has finally decided to stop experimenting and stick to what seems to be working for the Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers Are All Set To Make The Final Push For The Playoffs

With the NBA All-Star weekend over, the countdown is also on for the Lakers. In simple terms, the Lakers are all set to enter the final stretch of the season, and they have made all the changes they could have made around the NBA Trade Deadline.

There are just 23 games left in the season for the Purple and Gold, and the new roster will have a lot of pressure before each game.

After all, whether the Lakers advance to the postseason or not depends on these final 23 games. The team currently has a 27-32 record and holds the 13th seed in the Western Conference.
