Dejounte Murray and Paolo Banchero starred in a big moment during the 2022 NBA offseason, clashing on the court and beefing for a little while after an altercation during a summer run.
After their initial clash on the court, things got more interesting, as Banchero took to social media to call out Murray. The situation apparently cooled off after that, with them making amends at Jamal Crawford’s “CrawsOver” pro-am league, with Crawford even saying there was no bad blood between them.
This situation was apparently put to rest, but Murray has stirred the pot again while talking about his current relationship with the 2022 first-overall draft pick. Dejounte has made a lot of noise recently and this is another example of that.
Dejounte Murray Isn’t On The Best Terms With Paolo Banchero
During his recent participation on Showtime’s “All the Smoke,” Murray opened up on his incident with Banchero, saying that he wishes nothing but the best for the Orlando Magic rookie, but after seeing how Paolo acted following their on-court altercation, he’s better off away from the young player.

“With Paolo—I love Paolo—he’s the one. … Ain’t no competition in my head with none of us. That game, they was rah-ing. It started with his partnas on the side. … They start crossing the line talking street stuff, talking money, Oh, ‘You suck,’ or this and this and that, I’m about to turn this motherf–ka up. Even my momma [was] on the side like, “Yeah, you know what to do. Turn it up.’ And all I did was turnt it up.
“Then he went to the internet and said what he said, but what was said I didn’t like. because once you show me a certain way of who you are, then I ain’t got time to be tryna friend you again or none of that. I ain’t got time for that. You cross the line, you cross the line. I want you to stand on that.”
Murray was very vocal in this interview, even taking shots at the San Antonio Spurs for the way they treated him during his stay there, as well as Tony Parker, who went to a different team when Murray took over from him. Dejounte is a part of the Atlanta Hawks now, a team criticized for their acts on and off the court, and it seems like he’s meshed really well there.
He’s trying to help his team reach the playoffs amid a tumultuous season while Banchero is showing his quality on the Orlando Magic that are surprising everybody with their interesting performances.
