Dell Curry On The Brooklyn Nets: “I Think They’re The Team Of The East Right Now.”

3 Min Read

The Brooklyn Nets keep playing great basketball this season, demonstrating that they’re willing to do whatever it takes to win the NBA championship. The New Yorkers have created a very good team and even though Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin are inactive right now, Kyrie Irving and James Harden have taken this team to a very comfortable position.

A lot of people see them as the favorites to come out of the East and former NBA player Dell Curry thinks the same. After their 124-115 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, the Nets tied the Philadelphia 76ers with 28-13, tying for the top spot in the conference. During a recent interview, Curry named the Nets as the favorite squad to win the East and play in the NBA Finals this year.

Curry praised Steve Nash and his good job, as well as their Big 3, who have reached a point in their careers when they’re ready to win ‘ships. They have merged this season and the result is the big record the Nets have right now (42:59).

“When Steve got the job, it went ‘oh good, luck with that’. But he’s done a great job piecing those guys together. They’re sharing the ball. I think it’s a big thing when Kyrie told Harden you’re the point guard. I think they’re at a point in their career, all three of those guys. KD, Harden, and Kyrie.”

Dell said that the desire they have to win will play a big role in their chances to win the title. Besides that, they have a very good supporting cast that can take this team to the next level.

“They want to win and they know they can’t do it themselves. They’ve got to sacrifice, and they’re mature enough to know how to do it. I think they’re the team of the East right now. Especially if they defend just a little bit. Two of those guys are going to be on every night. They’re going to have enough scorers with Joe Harris and guys.”

The picture looks very good for the Nets right now, although people think we’ll see the real version of them in the postseason. They have three players who can take over any game and that could be a problem for them come playoffs time.
