DeMarcus Cousins was one of the best centers in the NBA 5 years ago before injuries during his time with the Golden State Warriors essentially stopped his career from progressing.
Since that season, Cousins has barely been playing in the NBA and took his talents to Puerto Rico, becoming the 13th former NBA player to go and sign for a team there.

Cousins will have some familiar faces from the NBA around him but none of these players were among the best as Cousins was. The big man has been bouncing around teams as a late-season signing for years now and played for teams like the Lakers, Nuggets, Rockets, and Clippers before not finding a home this season.
He averaged 9.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 48 games with the Nuggets last season.

Boogie Cousins has gone through multiple years of not having a contract to start the year but signing one as the season progresses. That almost happened this year as well with the Lakers conducting a workout with him before signing Tristan Thompson prior to locking in their playoff roster. Outside of that, the market seems to have dried up.
Given the players we saw in the NBA over the last week where many tanking teams were playing a lot of unknown names, Cousins definitely is a better player than them. The issue is that he brings a proven match-winning ability for a tanking team that doesn’t need it but he’s not good enough to provide that value on a contending team,
Cousins recently came out and said he felt like he was the third-best center in the NBA still. Given the fact he’s still just 32, hopefully, he can find his way back to the league.
