Dennis Schroder missed the game against the Phoenix Suns on Friday with neck spasms but that’s not the only injury he is dealing with at the moment.

The German revealed on his YouTube channel that his Achilles tendon is hurting as well, thanks to a heavy workload in recent times.

“Today I got up wrong, my neck is hurting badly,” Schroder said. “Yeah, it’s hurting and my Achilles tendon as well because the last few games I was playing a lot and had a lot of minutes.”

Schroder has been playing through injury at various points since the All-Star break, as both LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell have missed time. Anthony Davis had praised him after a win over the Golden State Warriors for toughing it out and playing because their two other ball handlers were out for that game.

With both of them now back, he can afford to take a night off, especially as the Suns were quite undermanned as well. Schroder added that he hopes to be ready for their last regular season game against the Utah Jazz, so it clearly isn’t too serious of an issue.

Dennis Schroder Has Had A Good Second Stint With The Lakers

Schroder’s first spell with the Lakers in the 2020-21 season did not go quite to plan, but he has proven to be a solid addition this time around. He has averaged 12.6 PPG, 2.5 RPG, and 4.5 APG so far and has really stepped up in some big moments to lead the team to victory.

His willingness to play through injuries in times of need so that the Lakers could make it to the playoffs is something fans have really appreciated as well. While it remains to be seen if the Lakers retain Schroder, he will almost certainly get a deal from some team in free agency after having to wait so long to get a contract last year.
