Devin Booker Reveals What Draymond Green Told Him After Finals Loss

After years of subpar play and poor performances, the Phoenix Suns finally stumbled on some degree of success, making the NBA Finals in a brutal and wild Western Conference.

Unfortunately, the Suns were unable to capture that elusive Chip, losing in 6 games to the Milwaukee Bucks. To get so close to victory only to ultimately lose in end must really stink, especially for a team with such a dark and lackluster history.

Apparently, after Phoenix’s Finals loss, Draymond Green (who also has experience losing on the big stage) apparently reached out with some words of wisdom:

“We’ve talked about it in short conversation,” said Booker. “Talked about it with Draymond and him stressing the fact, ‘It’s not going to be that easy to get back to the Finals.’ I remember us as a team saying that right in the locker room after we lost, that we got to understand it’s going to be even harder to make it to the point we were at.

Just having an understanding for that, but I’m excited for it. The experience was great. I’m glad I got to do it. Obviously, ended up on the wrong side of the stick but that’s life.”

Sometimes, we as spectators can forget how hard it is to make it to the Finals. Only two teams, out of 30, get there every season. It shouldn’t be taken for granted.

For the Suns, next year’s run isn’t going to prove any easier than their most recent. With the new Lakers superteam considered favorites in the West, Phoenix will have a number of new challenges to face in 2022.

There is no guarantee they will be successful in facing them.

At this point, all we can do is watch and see how it all plays out.
