Tempers were running short in Dallas on Sunday when Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving got their first look at the KD-led Phoenix Suns.

For the first three quarters, the game was going as expected with both sides displaying their offensive firepower. But things got chippy in the fourth when Devin Booker and Luka started going back and forth with trash talk.

While Luka was less than pleased with hearing all the noise, Booker didn’t shy away from the moment after the game. Speaking to the media, he gave the following response to his altercation with No. 77:

“You guys say you don’t want everybody to be friendly. There you go. We got some smoke.”

Of course, we know Book has never been shy about his trash talk on the court. When he’s out there and playing at his best, it’s common to see him chirping into the ears of his opponents.

In this case, it just so happened to be Luka Doncic, who is one of the best players in the world and a potential future playoff matchup for the Suns.

Devin Booker Believes Suns Can Win The Title

We’ve only seen the new-look Suns for three games now, but they are undefeated so far, with their latest win being their most impressive one yet.

While there are questions about Phoenix’s depth, the combined powers of Durant, Booker, and Chris Paul may just be enough to accomplish their goals.

“100%. We kind of have the same approach,” said Book on if his team has what it takes to win it all. “Once you have the taste of Finals experience and you have that under your belt, that’s what you want. We have one goal. We know it’s not going to be easy to get there, but we feel we have the talent, we have the mindset.”

Whatever happens this season, it’s clear that the Suns are going to be very competitive for years to come. Kevin Durant is showing no signs of aging, and Booker hasn’t even entered his prime yet.

So, it’s no wonder why there’s so much confidence in this Suns team right now. As arguably, the NBA’s newest dynasty, they will be on everyone’s radar going forward.

Clearly, Booker is ready for the challenge, and he’s not afraid to fight back when the competition starts talking.
