Andrew Wiggins is one of the best two-way players in the league. While many have criticized him in the past for not becoming a superstar after being selected No. 1 in the 2014 NBA Draft, it is fair to say that he has become a prominent contributor on what looks to be a Finals team in the Golden State Warriors.

Draymond Green has recently spoken about the criticism that Andrew Wiggins has received in the past while he was on the Minnesota Timberwolves, pointing out that the player often gets blamed for disappointing, rather than the franchise or the team that he’s on. It is true that players often thrive when put in good situations, and Andrew Wiggins has definitely played better on the Golden State Warriors than he did during his time with the Minnesota Timberwolves:

That’s a guy who has been criticized for being lackadaisical, the beat goes on. We’ve heard it all. Yet on the biggest stage he’s come through. I’ve always said no-one talks about teams that guys are on or organizations that guys are in. No-one ever talks about, it’s always the player fault. He’s showing that I’m not far off when I say that.

There’s no doubt that Andrew Wiggins has developed quite nicely during his time with the Golden State Warriors. Steve Kerr has even stated his belief that Andrew Wiggins getting traded to the Warriors was key in them becoming a good team once again.

Hopefully, Andrew Wiggins is able to continue performing well and playing a key role for the Golden State Warriors. The Golden State Warriors have a really good chance to win it all this season, and perhaps this is the year where we’ll finally watch Stephen Curry win that Finals MVP that evaded him during the dynasty era of the Warriors.
