The Golden State Warriors have looked dominant in their first two games against the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors completely decimated the Nuggets in their playoff series so far and will look to close the series out over the next 2 games in Denver. The two best players for the Warriors have been Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole. Poole, who has improved massively this year, has taken his game to another level this year and has become the Warriors’ second option.

Draymond Green broke down the Warriors’ performance in their first two games on his podcast recently. He noted that the performances of Jordan Poole have added more pressure on teams defensively, especially considering how much preparation they had to do in the first place in order to try and stop Stephen Curry. He believes that Poole and Curry’s collective presence has really bolstered the Warriors’ attack (8:06 onwards).

“Imagine what a defense has to do to prepare for Steph Curry and now has to do that twice … with Jordan Poole. All the life hacks that I used to get Steph Curry opened, I realized I can use the same to get Jordan opened largely due to his skillset.”

Green is clearly buzzing from the Warriors’ recent performances and as one of the leaders of the team, he will know better than anyone how important their performances have been. He had high praise for Jordan Poole, who has proven to be an extremely reliable scorer for the Golden State Warriors and has helped the Warriors greatly while Curry recovers from his injury and comes off the bench.

Poole will be crucial for the Golden State Warriors in this playoff run, as he has effectively become their second option behind Stephen Curry. With Klay Thompson still not fully recovered from his massive injury, he is not being asked to do nearly as much. And with Poole playing the way he is, there is no reason to ask Klay to overexert himself.
