After leaving the Toronto Raptors, DeMar DeRozan’s career started to decline. He looked like a shell of himself during his stint with the San Antonio Spurs. But it was clear that DeRozan didn’t have a great time playing for the franchise.

As a result, he decided to test the free agency last season. He ended up joining the Chicago Bulls and signed a 3-year $85 million contract. Looking at what an amazing season DeRozan had, it seems surprising that a championship contender didn’t end up signing him.

A team like the Los Angeles Lakers would have benefitted greatly from his talent. But did you know that the Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green actually tried to recruit DeRozan? Yes, the Warriors, which were already one of the best teams in the world and ended up winning the 2022 NBA Championship, were trying to sign DeRozan.

Green revealed the conversation he had with DeMar in a recent episode of his podcast, ‘The Draymond Green Show.’ He also revealed that DeRozan ended up giving Green an NSFW rejection.

“The conversation turned to ‘Come to the Warriors’ and you were like, ‘F**k, no. I’m not coming there. I’m not coming to play with y’all.'”

DeRozan revealed a lot of things in this amazing interview with the Warriors star. During one instance, he opened up about playing in Chicago and trying to imitate what MJ did in a Bulls jersey.

Anyway, it’s good to know that DeRozan rejected Green’s offer. Otherwise, it would have given birth to a team similar to the 2017 Warriors when KD joined the franchise in free agency to win easy rings.
