The 2021-22 NBA season was exciting for the Golden State Warriors. After missing the playoffs for two straight seasons, the Dubs made a stunning comeback and won the NBA Championship.

During the Warriors’ journey of winning the NBA title, they faced off against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round. It unarguably gave birth to a new rivalry, and fans thoroughly enjoyed it. Although the Grizzlies lost against the Warriors, Morant believes injuries ruined the matchup for his team, and they would have gotten the better of Stephen Curry and co. without them.

Since then, Morant has made several comments about not only the Warriors, but also other teams in the Western Conference. So much so that Ja boldly claimed that he’s not worried about any team in the West.

Draymond Green Says He Is Not Worried About Facing The Memphis Grizzlies

Since announcing his return to podcasting, Draymond Green has been firing shots left and right. He also clapped back at Ja for his comments about Western Conference teams.

On that note, Green also went on to explain why he thinks the Grizzlies cannot compete against the Warriors.

Via NBC Sports:

“They cannot compete in a playoff series, especially with us, if Jaren does not stop fouling. Jaren cannot end up in foul trouble in five of the six games of a series. He has to be on the floor, because there’s going to be times where Steven Adams, who’s incredible, plays his role better than anybody in the NBA. There’s going to be times in this NBA when you have to take Steven Adams off the floor. It’s just going to happen.”

He added, “The person who may be able to defend (Steph Curry) is Jaren, but if he’s always in foul trouble. No. 1, you can’t play aggressive and No. 2, you can’t play at all. You’re on the bench because you’re always in foul trouble. The key to making it all happen and giving them a legitimate chance to compete is Jaren Jackson. If Jaren can stop fouling, then they can really contend. If Jaren can’t stop fouling — Jaren’s your second-best player on that team, if your second-best player can’t stay on the floor — they’re not going to be able to win. So that’s my challenge to them, that’s my challenge to my Lil bro, Spartan dog Jaren. He has to stop fouling if they’re ever going to have a chance to win.”

Green didn’t downplay the importance of Ja Morant to the Grizzlies. But at the same time, he believes Jaren Jackson Jr. is the key for the Grizzlies if they want to win against the Warriors. But considering Jackson Jr. tends to get in a lot of foul trouble, they won’t be able to stop Steph and the Warriors if they meet again in the playoffs.
