Michael Jordan keeps surprising NBA fans with the anecdotes people have to tell about him. The Hall of Famer did a lot of impressive stuff during his career, but it looks like we’ll never stop getting surprised by his dominance.

When MJ was in the playoffs, he was a complete beast. Even though he had to overcome the ‘Bad Boys’ Detroit Pistons to finally be successful in the league, MJ always gave his best to defeat his rivals. One of the most impressive stats about his playoff career is that he faced 269 opponents in the postseason, outscoring 268.

Jordan faced great players like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Charles Barkley and Karl Malone among others. However, among all those great names, only one player was able to outscore His Airness, and the margin was nearly nonexistent. The only player who outscored Jordan in a postseason series is Terry Cummings, in the first round of the 1985 playoffs, by 0.2 points per game (Cummings – 29.5, Jordan – 29.3).

It’s also worth noting that during that series, MJ was guarded by 2x DPOY Sidney Moncrief. That didn’t make any difference for the 6x NBA champion, who still dropped 29.3 points per game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

MJ was a scoring machine, arguably the greatest scorer of all time. You never stop discovering more details about Jordan’s terrific career. He was great and even nowadays, we can’t help but praise him for all his numbers and achievements.
