ESPN Insider Reveals There Is An Admission In The Lakers’ Room That The Roster Is Not Working And Trades Could Happen Before The Deadline

The Los Angeles Lakers have been underwhelming this season. What started as a great offseason turned out to become a nightmare for the Purple and Gold. They landed very interesting players to the roster, but so far, they have struggled to get things going, making fans unhappy with their performances.

It’s not a secret that many people have urged the team’s front office to make some changes, especially regarding Russell Westbrook, and it seems like there might be an opportunity for the 17-time NBA champions to deal the former NBA MVP before the trade deadline strikes tomorrow.

Moreover, Westbrook wouldn’t be the only player to leave Crypto.com Arena in the next hours. The Lakers are facing many issues this season and we could see several changes happening very soon.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Lakers have admitted that their current roster hasn’t worked as expected and we could see a series of moves taking place, as they trade to improve their level.

A troubling loss to the defending champion Bucks on Tuesday night led to an uneasy admission within the Lakers’ locker room: The roster is not working, and something must be done to get the team back on course with Thursday’s trade deadline fast approaching.

The suspicion had been mounting for weeks, if not months, for a Lakers team built with a title in mind, sources told ESPN. Thrashing along at 26-29 following the 131-116 loss to the Bucks, the clarity of the acknowledgment was tied to timing, sources said.

It’s unclear what players will be dealt in these moves, but the Lakers appear to be ready to blow things up and make another major roster overhaul to see if they get the right pieces to compete for a championship this time.

The All-Star break is around the corner, too, and the Lakers need to find the right team to face the remainder of the season. Their Big 3 hasn’t worked out so far, and perhaps moving Westbrook could be the first step to turn things around and prove they are a legit contender.

We have to wait and see what will happen with the Lakers, but they are expected to have a very entertaining trade deadline.
