The Milwaukee Bucks just faced their worst home defeat of the season, losing to rivals Boston Celtics 140-99 in a possible Eastern Conference Finals preview.

Jayson Tatum scored 40 points while Jaylen Brown added 30 more to completely overwhelm the Bucks. Fans were stunned to see the best team in the league get decimated like this.

One fan said, “Tatum be taking the Giannis matchups personally.”

Another fan mocked the Bucks’ decision of having Joe Ingles guard Tatum, “Ingles tryna guard Tatum.”

The Tatum and Brown duo received heavy praise, “Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum just made a major statement against the Bucks. Two bucket-getting wings are a nightmare to deal with for 7 games.”

The Giannis and Tatum rivalry added another chapter, “I’m not gonna sit here and argue Tatum is better than a 2x MVP but his eyes light up for that matchup every time. Giannis is sick of him he said it at the All-Star game too.”

Fans also shared Tatum’s previous accomplishments against the Bucks, “Jayson Tatum and owning the Bucks you can’t name a better love story.”

The fact that the game took place in Milwaukee added fuel to the fire, “Jayson Tatum keeps walking in Giannis’s house and putting blood in his mouth.”

Dan Greenberg reminded the world of what Tatum did in Game 6 against the Bucks last season, “Jayson Tatum is giving this crowd Game 6 flashbacks.”

The Bucks saw Jrue Holiday follow up his 51-point performance with 6 points tonight on 2-8 shooting. Khris Middleton had a subpar showing as well, scoring just 13 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo was the best Buck on the night, scoring 24 points on 40% shooting.

The No. 1 seed in the East is still within Boston’s reach and this win has brought them 2 games behind the Bucks with 5 games left for both teams on the season.

Who Is Coming Out Of The East?

It has been widely presumed that one of the three teams will win the East. They are the top three seeds, Milwaukee, Boston, and Philadelphia. The Celtics just proved they have enough firepower to beat the Bucks while also limiting them to under 100 points. A playoff series is different, but the C’s did beat Milwaukee last year in the playoffs.

The 76ers haven’t been as competitive as the other two teams but Joel Embiid‘s MVP-caliber form along with James Harden becoming a playmaking savant, the team is bound to be a tough out.

If all teams make it out of the first round, two of them are likely to face each other in the second round. The current standings say those teams will be Boston and Philadelphia, meeting in the 2-3 matchup of the second round. It’ll be a tough road for all teams in the playoffs, but the one that wins the East will likely be the favorite to lift the title at the end of the year.
