The Golden State Warriors came back from down 2-0 to beat the Sacramento Kings in a hard-fought first-round series.
Stephen Curry put the icing on the win with his 50-point Game 7 performance, but he also helped his coach improve on an incredible stat. Steve Kerr is undefeated in the West during the playoffs and now has a 19-0 record.

Fans quickly started sharing the iconic picture of LeBron James down 3-1 in 2016 because James will be facing Kerr’s Warriors next round.

More fans actually looked ahead to a possible Warriors-Nuggets WCF, saying Jamal Murray will eliminate them after their record improves to 20 series wins.
Gonna be 20-1 when Magic Murray meets him in the conference finals

One fan implied Kerr and the Warriors is the team that’s actually fine in the West, unlike Ja Morant and his Grizzlies.

The Warriors have only lost two playoff series on the court, and both came in the NBA Finals. The first was in 2016 when they blew a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The second was in 2019, when injuries left them unable to contain the Toronto Raptors. Apart from that, not a single team in the West has beaten Kerr’s Warriors since he became coach in the 2014-15 season.
Will The Lakers Be The 1 In 19-1?
The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to make history and become the first team since the 2014 playoffs to eliminate the Warriors before the Finals. Funnily enough, the last team to beat them in the West was also an LA-based team, but it was the Lob City Clippers led by Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
This matchup is going to be extremely exciting. The Lakers have a comparable roster to the Warriors. The Lakers’ top duo is better than the Warriors, but Golden State has arguably the most complete starting lineup in the NBA. The Lakers’ roster has some inconsistencies, especially in terms of the production they receive each night in and night out, but they have the rotational depth that may outmatch Golden State.
Everything will be decided on the court, as on-paper discussions rarely determine where a series is headed. Beating the Warriors in the second round will make a massive statement, one we know LeBron and his team will be dying to make.
