Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls could not have won 6 championships within a decade without the services of Scottie Pippen. While he was not the main man for the Bulls, Scottie was huge for their success and his fit with Jordan will forever be regarded as one of the best we’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, Scottie isn’t nearly as close with Michael today and he has gone to great lengths to discredit his former teammate’s game.

But after recently calling MJ a “terrible” basketball player, Pippen sparked enough outrage to catch the attention of some of his other former teammates, like Ron Harper. On Twitter, Harper replied to Pippen’s recent quote with a short but powerful message:

“Stop putting a mic in front of him please!!!!!”

What was it exactly that Pippen said about no. 23? Apparently, according to Scottie, he was a horrible player who put up terrible shots.

“LeBron James will be the greatest statistical guy to ever play the game of basketball,” said Pippen. “There’s no comparison to him… I’ve seen Michael Jordan play before I came to play with the Bulls… [Michael Jordan] was a horrible player. He was horrible to play with. He was all 1 on 1, he was shooting bad shots. ”

Michael Jordan Is One Of The Greatest Players Ever

There aren’t many people on the planet who know Jordan better than Scottie Pippen, but Pippen’s problems with MJ have clouded his judgment when it comes to assessing greatness and it’s clear he’s letting his personal bias and feelings get in the way of honest basketball assessment.

As a 14x All-Star, 11x All-NBA player, and 6x champion, Michael Jordan’s legacy is undeniable whether Scottie wants to admit it or not.

“That has been a big debate for a while now,” said former Bulls big man Dennis Rodman. “… If Michael played in this era, he would average 50 points a game. LeBron is a great talent, no doubt, and he is probably in the top 3 players that ever played with Kobe, Magic, Kareem, but Michael is right there. I don’t know why you guys discuss who the GOAT is.”

The funniest part of this whole thing is that Jordan has never once responded to Pippen’s criticisms. Instead of going to war against his former teammate, Mike is letting history do the talking.

And despite how long it’s been since we’ve seen Jordan this best, nobody is fooled when it comes to his ranking among the All-Time greats.
