The NBA world often goes back and forth over who is the better player; LeBron James or Kevin Durant. An argument can be made for either player being the better between the two, and even the best in the world. But one NBA player has had his say on his tougher to guard.

Former NBA player Davon Reed, who last played for the Denver Nuggets, spoke recently about who is the toughest player to guard in the NBA. Reed revealed that he guarded Kevin Durant, and even Paul George, but LeBron James posed the biggest challenge, as he shared details about his first encounter with him.

“I’ve guarded KD, I’ve guarded Paul George. Easily has to be LeBron. My rookie year, in Cleveland. And Bron is my favorite player. And I’m ready for that rematch. But he posted me up like 5 times in a row, and it was either like a scoring error, and-1 like 4 or 5 times in a row. Just nothing I could do, he was just too strong, too quick. And it went fast, it was like a surreal moment, because that’s my favorite player. It wasn’t like I was giving him anything easy, but he definitely put me in my place. And I’m looking for that rematch.”

Reed played LeBron James in 2017-18, which many consider being one of The King’s best seasons. So it comes as no surprise that James was proving to be a difficult challenge for him. Reed would have had more experience playing against KD and PG13, given that both of them were in the Western Conference as Reed was in Phoenix.

This answer will probably do little to settle the debate over LeBron and KD. If anything, it will just stoke the fire. Recently, most former NBA players voted Kevin Durant over LeBron James as the best player in the league. Knowing LeBron James, he will use that as motivation going into the rest of the season.
