Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant’s future is extremely uncertain. There’s no way to know where the two stars will be playing when the next season of the NBA begins. The Nets are seemingly open to the idea that both might be on their roster on opening night, but there haven’t been many concrete reports about what the players themselves want to happen.

Durant submitted a trade request, which means he’d likely not be open to giving it another shot with the team. However, many people have suggested that it might be the best option for both the players, and it would certainly be the best option for the Nets.

And now former Nets All-Star Kenny Anderson has added his voice to the chorus, urging the two to run it back with the team.

“Make one more run together my guys!!”

Anderson played for the Nets from 1991-1996, earning an All-Star appearance in 1994. And while he may never have been a part of teams that were seriously threatening to win the NBA title, that’s probably why he wishes to keep the superstars who can make that a possibility for the Nets.

Whatever haul the franchise can get for Irving and Durant might not be enough for them to start competing again for a few more years. So trading them away is essentially giving up on the immediate future, which is not a decision that the Nets should make lightly.

The team’s situation is quite confusing at the moment, it’s hard to tell what is going to happen, but Nets fans will be with Anderson even if they’re not too thrilled with how the superstars have behaved. It’s hard to reach any sort of consensus when it comes to situations like these, but the only certainty is that if KD and Kyrie buy back in, then the Nets are immediately back in the conversation as contenders.
