LeBron James is having a fantastic offensive season in the 19th year of his career. He has had to take on a massive scoring load for the Los Angeles Lakers this season due to their lack of offensive threats on the roster. Currently, LeBron James is averaging an astounding 29.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.2 APG.
There is no doubt that LeBron James’ ability to be an offensive engine is of the utmost importance to this version of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Los Angeles Lakers are only 3-10 since the All-Star break, but the 3 wins that they did get came from good scoring performances from LeBron James.
Frank Vogel recently gave an honest take on LeBron James’ importance to the Los Angeles Lakers, claiming that he doesn’t know where the team would be “without him”.

There is no doubt that we’ve seen LeBron James uplift some terrible rosters in the past. However, he has not been able to do that with the Los Angeles Lakers this year. It must be said that injuries have affected the Lakers’ ability to build up any rhythm, but they are clearly much worse than what was expected of them at the start of the season.
LeBron James recently passed a huge scoring milestone, and became the second leading all-time scorer, only behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Many people were in awe of his achievement, and it’s clear that he has cemented his status as one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.
The goal for LeBron James this season will be to make the playoffs via the play-in tournament. There is a chance that the Los Angeles Lakers will not end up making it out of the play-in stage, but to count out a LeBron James-led tea wouldn’t be wise.
