LeBron James has accomplished plenty in his career already, and he is still playing at a high level. There is no doubt that he could add more accolades to his resume prior to his retirement.

While he is obviously a very versatile all-around player, LeBron James never gets plaudits for his scoring ability. He has even spoken out about that treatment in the past, claiming that not being recognized as a top-tier scorer upsets him.

“The crazy thing is I’m not like a natural scorer,” James said. “I love getting my guys involved, I’ve always been that way. The point of seeing my teammate succeed off my pass. I’ve always been that type of guy. And to sit on top of the food chain in the most points scored in the history of the game is like it’s weird to me. When they talk about the best scorers of all time, they never mention my name. It pisses me off. They don’t ever bring my name to it.”

Recently though, LeBron James managed to become the second-leading scorer of all-time, passing Karl Malone. There’s no doubt that this is a fantastic achievement for him, and he’s clearly an elite scorer even at this point of his career.

Teammate Russell Westbrook has recently commented on the feat achieved by James, claiming that it was “crazy to see”, and adding that it is “a great accomplishment”. There’s no doubt that LeBron James’ level of longevity is unprecedented.

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been able to convert productive scoring from LeBron James into wins, but perhaps that will change over this last stretch of the season. Given their inconsistency though, it’s hard to see change happening.

Hopefully, LeBron James continues on this tear throughout the rest of the season. The Los Angeles Lakers clearly need him to keep scoring for their offense to remain at an acceptable level, and LeBron James is obviously doing his best to keep them afloat without Anthony Davis.
