The Phoenix Suns hired Frank Vogel this summer to replace Monty Williams, and there’s no doubt that this was a solid hire. Vogel is a great coach with a penchant for the defensive end, who has championship experience as well.

Recently, Frank Vogel revealed that he already had some conversations with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, noting that the trio are already “aligned” in their beliefs and are “excited” for next season. Trevor Booth of ClutchPoints relayed the news.

“I don’t have a lot of experience prior to this process,” Vogel said of his relationship with the two. “I did coach Devin in, I believe, his first All-Star game (2020) a couple years back. So that was fun, and I had met KD (Durant’s nickname) a few years back at one of the other All-Star games, I think when I was with the Pacers.”

“So limited experience there, but had great conversations with both of those guys after being hired. A lot of our beliefs are really aligned, a lot of our expectations and hopes for what we want to do to this league this year, we’re all very excited about it.”

There is no doubt that the Phoenix Suns have a star duo that is championship-caliber in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Hopefully, we see them win at least one ring during their time together, and perhaps Frank Vogel is the coach that can make it happen.

Frank Vogel Wants To Get The Best Out Of Deandre Ayton

Aside from the Phoenix Suns’ star duo, it seems as though Frank Vogel wants to get the best out of other players as well. In fact, he recently stated that he wants to help Deandre Ayton become an All-Star.

“I think he can be one of the best centers in the league. … There are still areas that he can grow offensively, but I’m intent on really connecting with him and restoring him to an All-Star level player.”

Deandre Ayton improving his play even further could become key to the Phoenix Suns’ success in the future. He definitely has the potential, and perhaps Frank Vogel can unlock it.
