After so much speculation regarding his future, Giannis Antetokounmpo put the tasks to bed, announcing on Twitter his plans to re-sign with the Bucks in a heartwarming tweet addressing his fans.

This is my home, this is my city.. I’m blessed to be able to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 5 years. Let’s make these years count. The show goes on, let’s get it.

As the reigning 2x MVP, Giannis is a guy that can swing the fortunes of any NBA franchise. Before the extension, his looming free agency was a huge talking point, in part because wherever he went would make the team become title contenders almost instantly.

But all that is moot now, as Giannis has locked in with Milwaukee for the next five years, securing the biggest contract in NBA history.

The question now is, can he bring them a title? With a commitment in the books, all the focus now will shift towards the team’s performance and how far they are able to go this postseason. Antetokounmpo seems determined, and the Bucks are no doubt breathing a sigh of relief.
