Glen Davis Reveals Kyrie Irving Recruited Kevin Durant To Celtics Before Joining Nets: “I Seen Jayson Tatum And Kyrie Irving At A Table With KD In The Bahamas… They Just Won The Championship.”

The Boston Celtics have gotten used to making some splash in the NBA in recent years. From landing Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, and other talented point guards like Malcolm Brogdon to selecting young talent that could take them to the promised land after so many years.

They have a very good team right now, considered favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference next season and even win the championship after falling short against the Golden State Warriors this season. The C’s are all-in to improve their performance next season, and recent rumors could put them in an even better position to dethrone the Dubs.

They have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to trade for Kevin Durant this offseason, with rumors suggesting they would trade Jaylen Brown to the Nets this summer. According to a former Celtics player, this was something that could have happened three years ago, before KD decided to join the Nets.

Glen Davis recently claimed that he personally saw Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum with Kevin Durant in the Bahamas, thinking that the Celtics won the championship as they were recruiting KD to the squad.

“Just karma. Always going to have bad karma when it comes to the Celtics. I honestly think so because I think he went there with the wrong mindset. Imagine Kyrie on that damn team right now… See, Jayson and Jaylen wasn’t ready, still young.

“That’s why people don’t know after KD and them won the championship, I seen Jayson Tatum and Kyrie Irving at a table with KD in the Bahamas…they just won the championship. Kyrie was trying to get KD to come to Boston. When Boston didn’t work out, ‘KD come to Brooklyn.’

“KD was going to go to Boston, I seen with my own eyes in the Bahamas. I’m like, ‘Why are y’all sitting at the same table.’ I didn’t even walk over there. I was like, ‘That’s crazy. KD was trying to come to Boston…”

As we all know now, Kyrie and KD took a different route and signed with the Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2019, creating a terrific duo that was expected to compete for championships every single year. Things didn’t go as planned, and they were eliminated in the playoffs in the past two seasons, both times by the eventual Eastern Conference champions.

Now, these two could go on separate ways after a tumultuous 2021/22 season full of issues on and off the court. Time will tell where they play next or if they stay with the Nets at least until the trade deadline or next summer.
