As Kevin Love prepares to join the free agency market, one Western Conference team is already being reported to have a serious interest in signing him: the Golden State Warriors.

This season, the Warriors had high expectations after winning the championship last summer and they were confident that their roster of veteran stars and exciting young players would be enough to maximize their repeat chances.

Instead, the season hasn’t played out smoothly at all. At 29-29, the Warriors are currently the 9th seed in the West and well on their way to needing a play-in game to secure a playoff spot. To make matters worse, they’ll be without Steph Curry for some time as he recovers from his latest injury.

But it’s not all doom and gloom for the Warriors, as Kevin Love is a guy who could help in a lot of ways…

Along with the Heat, keep an eye on the Warriors and Celtics when it comes to Love’s next destination. He is a childhood friend of Warriors star guard Klay Thompson. It would not be a surprise if Thompson tried to recruit him.

After suffering an injury to his right thumb, Love became a liability on the floor and fell out of Cleveland’s rotation as a result. Unfortunately, it was the way Love’s career had been trending after several years of declining numbers and dwindling minutes with the Cavaliers.

If anybody can help Love find his rhythm again, it’s the Warriors.

Are The Warriors Still A Threat To Win The Title?

Despite what their record may show, Golden State is still confident they can make a run when it counts. With Steph Curry set to return before the playoffs, Golden State should have enough time to get right in time for the first round.

With Kevin Love, the Warriors have another long-distance sniper who would bring size, passing, and rebounding in the second unit or even as a starter playing at center.

With averages of 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game on 38% shooting, Love isn’t going to be the savior of the Warirors’ season, but he would provide another offensive weapon for a team that desperately needs some scoring punch off the bench.
