Gordon Hayward Seemingly Throws Shade At Boston Celtics After Hornets Latest Win: “It’s Been A Lot Of Fun Playing With My New Teammates And Under This Coaching Staff.”

Gordon Hayward appears to have thrown shade at the Boston Celtics after the Charlotte Hornets’ most recent victory. The player didn’t leave the Celtics on good terms and his recent comments might have had a hidden message for his former team.

After the Hornets blew out the New York Knicks on Monday night, Hayward talked about how happy he is now, praising his new teammates and coaches, stating that he’s having fun now.

“It’s been a lot of fun playing with my new teammates and under this coaching staff,” Hayward said, via ESPN, as transcribed by ClutchPoints. “I’m having a great time. As long as we keep doing our jobs and playing hard every night I think the wins and losses will take care of themselves.”

He then doubled down on his comments, making it clear that he’s really happy now in Charlotte.

“When the basketball is moving and you’re getting open shots and easy buckets it’s just fun,” Hayward added. “It’s hard to guard. … I have some great teammates who can really pass the ball.”

He is having a very good season with the Charlotte Hornets, the team that signed him for the next four years and $120 million, raising a lot of eyebrows around the league. Just when everybody thought he was going to just go on vacation to North Carolina, Hayward has proven doubters wrong, having good performances with his team, leading them to have a 6-5 record, ranking 6th in the Eastern Conference.

It’s unclear if he was actually attacking Boston with his comments or he was just showing his excitement to be part of a team that has fun on the court and can compete in a very difficult conference.
