NBA players often find the time between games to showboat. Players usually showboat in order to express confidence and also try to have some fun during the course of the game. But this does have the tendency to backfire, especially when their taunting is followed up by a failure on the court.

That is exactly what happened to Sacramento Kings star Terence Davis. During the Kings game against the Houston Rockets, Davis got the ball at the top of the arc with no coverage. Before taking the shot, Davis shimmied and danced before shooting the ball. Unfortunately, he missed the shot quite badly.

As a result, the Inside The NBA crew roasted him for doing so. Shaquille O’Neal quoted the popular lyrics “shimmy shimmy ya shimmy ye”, whereas Kenny Smith was just disappointed in Davis for not being able to make the shot without any coverage, given that he had no one else around him.

Clearly, things did not go to plan for Davis. And while he may feel bad about the jokes from Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith, he has to understand that they make fun of everyone, and his mistake was going to garner jokes and criticism from fans and analysts alike.

Perhaps Davis will try to make amends by having a better shooting performance in the Kings’ next game, and possibly never shimmying again. One can imagine why he would hesitate to do it again during a game, given how much the NBA world roasted him for it.

This wasn’t the only strange moment on the show, as Charles Barkley was caught cleaning his glasses by licking them, something the internet caught hold of and made fun of him for. Moments such as these show why Inside The NBA is one of the most popular shows among basketball fans in the world today.
