Ja Morant has always boasted big confidence and the Memphis Grizzlies point guard doesn’t miss his chance to state how great he thinks he is and the endless possibilities he has in his NBA career.

After winning the 2020 Rookie of the Year, Ja is trying to take the Grizzlies to the postseason in his sophomore year and they’re still in the fight for a spot in the play-in tournament. As long as he’s healthy and confident, Memphis will have a chance to at least compete against teams with the same needs they have.

Recently, the player called himself a top-5 point guard in the league, demonstrating that he’s very confident in his talents and what he’s capable of doing in the association. While talking with the Inside the NBA crew, Morant made it clear (7:07).

Shaquille O’Neal: “You got a lot of experts, a lot of media outlets that rate point guards and he is this and he is that, where do you rate yourself? I know as players we always rate ourselves. Honestly, where do you rate yourself when it comes to point guard position?”

Morant: “Top 5, for sure. Simply as that.”

This kid is already boasting big confidence. He has the tools and skills to be something great in the league and although he doesn’t get the same attention as other players because he plays in a small market, people shouldn’t sleep on this guy.

Morant is one of the future best point guards in the league and if he’s already convinced that he’s a top 5, you know he’s going for more in the next seasons. Right now the Grizzlies rank 9th in the West with a 32-32 record, with Morant posting 19.1 points per game, 3.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game.
