Ja Morant is well-known for being one of the most passionate and expressive players in the game. He plays basketball with a certain ferocity, and that aspect was on display tonight.

During the Memphis Grizzlies – Golden State Warriors game, Ja Morant stared down a young Warriors fan who seemingly wanted to high-five him. Morant claimed that it was “disrespectful” for the fan to try and high-five him with a Warriors jersey on, but joked that he’d send the fan a Grizzlies jersey.

Ja Morant said it was "disrespectful" for the kid wearing a Steph jersey to high five him after his last shot and that he has no mercy for him 😂

Ja Morant: "He was disrespectful with that jersey on. We Memphis. It looked like he wanted to cheer, but he had that jersey on. I apologize to him, but in that moment, bro, take that jersey off and then dap me up. Somebody find his information. I’ll send him one myself." https://t.co/fzDa7rcqrv

Ja Morant also took to Twitter to apologize to the young fan after the game, claiming that he is “just too locked in” and “on another level”. It is clear that during the game, Ja Morant tends to focus on the matter at hand rather than outside distractions.

The Memphis Grizzlies are currently the hottest team in the NBA, and they are currently on a 10-game winning streak. They have beaten the Los Angeles Lakers, and now the Golden State Warriors in their last 2 games, both of whom have plenty of star power. It is pretty obvious that the Memphis Grizzlies want to show that they can compete with the best, and they have made their point tonight.

There is no question that the Western Conference will be competitive come playoff time, and the Memphis Grizzlies are 29-14 in the 4th seed, having only one more loss than the Utah Jazz. Ja Morant’s performances have fueled the team all season, and there have even been claims that he could be the next player to bring a small-market team a championship. Most people wouldn’t consider the Grizzlies contenders, but it would be unwise to count them out.
