Ja Morant has established himself as a true star this season, winning the Most Improved Award thanks to his incredible jump during the regular season, and following it up with his first series win in the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The matchup between the two sides was exciting, with young talent on both sides not afraid to talk their talk, as Morant showed after winning Game 5 for the Grizzlies.

Well, if any people thought Ja would stay quiet after the series was clinched they were wrong. But Morant didn’t need to write something big or say something very disrespectful to get his point across, he merely posted one picture to Twitter. A picture of a Grizzly chasing a wolf, which is a fitting tribute to how many leads Memphis chased down and overturned during this thrilling series.

The picture went viral, understandably so, with Timberwolves fans not being able to say much after their series loss and Grizzlies fans reveling in the fact that their team had managed to get the win. There was a particular incident that was the subject of quite a few jokes too. In-game, Pat Beverley had made a gesture to Morant signaling he was too small, something that Morant responded to with his play, but also something that came up on social media after Memphis sealed the win.

Karl-Anthony Towns, someone that also talked a bunch during the series at various points, ultimately failed to lead his team to the win. Coming up small in the moments that mattered the most, which ended up costing the Timberwolves, is something he will only be able to wash away with a better performance and series win next time Minnesota makes it to the playoffs.

The entire situation has been important for this young Minnesota team, knowing that they can make it to the postseason and hang with the 2nd seed will help ease the sting of the result and the jokes. Ja and his Grizzlies will now face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals, a series that promises to be quite exciting in its own right.
