James Harden is regarded as one of the best scorers of our generation. Over the years, the Beard made it look easy to score 30 or 40 points in a game. The true prime of his career was spent with the Houston Rockets, there are no doubts about that.
But even though James Harden achieved a lot of individual success during his stint with the Rockets, he failed to achieve his ultimate goal of winning an NBA Championship.
Speaking of that, in a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, Harden shared his thoughts on if he missed recording 35 points and 10 assists in a game with ease. On top of that, he also revealed the real reason why he left the Rockets.
Via Yahoo Sports:
I would love that, but not as much — if that makes sense. In Houston, I was doing that every single night. It was expected. It’s a lot of times I feel like I can have that same impact on games. But you see the bigger picture. I’m just focused on one thing, man. That’s all that matters. I wanted to have the chance to win at the highest level. Once I figured we weren’t gonna be able to do that in Houston, I tried to put myself in a situation to win at the highest level. The ultimate goal for me is a championship.”
Harden seems to be working pretty hard towards that goal as he has taken a co-star role alongside Joel Embiid since getting traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.
James Harden Doesn’t Care About Not Getting Credit For What He Has Achieved In The NBA
Although James Harden’s ultimate goal is to win the NBA Championship just like any other player in the league, most yearn for credit for whatever they have done during their career apart from winning the title.
However, Harden recently revealed that he doesn’t care that he is not given enough credit for what he has done during his career. At the end of the day, the Beard wants to become an NBA champion.
As of now, he is in the perfect position to do so, as the 76ers are one of the best teams in the league. Hopefully, they can carry this red-hot form all the way to the postseason. This will certainly help Harden in achieving his lifelong dream of becoming an NBA champion.
