Point guard Ja Morant is well known for his athleticism, and we have often seen him posterize opposing players. It is clear that he has a flair for the spectacular and is willing to try and dunk on anyone and everyone, including his teammates.

Big man Jaren Jackson Jr. won the DPOY award this season and is known as one of the best shot-blockers in the league. However, even he was subject to a poster from Ja Morant, and he recently revealed that Morant dunked on him on his first day with the Memphis Grizzlies.

“Ja dunked on me first day”, said Jackson Jr.

There is no doubt that it takes insane confidence from a player to challenge Jaren Jackson Jr. at the rim. Ja Morant clearly has that, and he’ll probably dunk on many more elite centers in the future.

This season, Ja Morant averaged 26.2 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 8.1 APG for the Memphis Grizzlies. He is clearly on track to be a superstar, but he needs to avoid the off-court issues that have been plaguing him over the course of the last year.

Ja Morant Could Be Facing A Lengthy Suspension Next Season

This past season, we have seen Ja Morant be involved in multiple situations where he flashed a firearm on camera. In fact, it was recently revealed by Brian Windhorst that the point guard could be facing a “significant suspension” as a result of the latest incident.

“The indication here is this is going to be a significant suspension,” Windhorst said on ESPN’s Get Up. “The tone and the fact that the Players Association is involved does not indicate that it’ll be similar to something we’ve seen before. I also think Adam Silver is expecting there to be a lot of reactions to what he does.”

A long suspension for Ja Morant could be detrimental for the Memphis Grizzlies, as many would agree that he is the face of their franchise. However, at the same time, we have seen the Memphis Grizzlies do well without Ja Morant in the past, with some even claiming that the team is better without their star point guard.

It will be interesting to see what the official news is on Ja Morant in the future. Hopefully, we do see him get to play at some point next season, and as of now, all we can do is wait for the announcement of his punishment.
