Jasmine Riggs, the daughter-in-law of former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin, took to social media to express her feelings after the news of Griffin’s firing broke. In a series of Instagram stories, Riggs didn’t hold back, blaming Griffin and his family for the death of her two-year-old son, Jayce.
In her Instagram stories, Riggs wrote:
“YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY DIDN’T EVEN COME TO THE FUNERAL TO LAY YOUR GRANDSON TO REST BUT LOOK AT GOD LAYING THAT CAREER OF YOURS TO REST!”

She added hashtags like #JUSTICEFORJAYCE and emphasized the notion of karma.

She also posted a snap video of the ‘Gil’s Arena’, which says Griffin’s firing had nothing to do with basketball, and she hinted that there were deeper forces in play.

This public outburst stems from a tragic incident that occurred on July 22, 2023, when Jayce was found unresponsive at a home in Illinois and later pronounced dead. The cause of death, according to the Champaign County coroner’s preliminary results, was attributed to natural causes, with no evidence of trauma or foul play
Despite the coroner’s findings, Riggs has consistently held Griffin, her ex Alan Griffin (Jayce’s father), and Griffin’s wife responsible for the death. Riggs claimed that the family was present at home when Jayce was found unresponsive. She asserted that Jayce, who had a routine respiratory infection, was healthy until a sudden decline three days before his death.
The firing of Adrian Griffin triggered Riggs to reiterate her accusations, using the occasion to express her grief and frustration. The Instagram stories serve as a public platform for Riggs to voice her perspective and seek what she believes is justice for Jayce.
Adrian Griffin Thanked Bucks Despite Being Fired Just 4 Months In
Adrian Griffin, who was officially fired as the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks after just 43 games into his tenure, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and thanked the organization despite the unexpected turn of events. In an interview with Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, Griffin acknowledged the Bucks for the chance they provided him.
“I appreciate the opportunity the Bucks gave me. You can’t control everything. I feel good about the job we did. I appreciate my coaching staff for all their hard work.”
Griffin had been hired by the Bucks in June 2023 as the replacement for coach Mike Budenholzer. The decision to bring in Griffin was reportedly influenced significantly by Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who played a key role in the hiring process. Despite the brevity of Griffin’s stint as head coach, he reflected positively on the experience, expressing gratitude for coaching star players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez.
With the Bucks naming assistant Joe Prunty as the interim coach, Griffin’s departure marks one of the shortest tenures for full-time head coaches in NBA history, tying for the third-shortest. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, Griffin conveyed his aspirations to continue pursuing a head coaching role in the league, emphasizing his appreciation for the roster he had the opportunity to coach.
