Jayson Tatum’s Emotional Revelation After 60-PT Outburst: “Just To Hear My Dad Say He’s Proud Of Me, It Means A Lot. Just Because He Never Expressed That When I Was Younger.”

Jayson Tatum had a great Friday night, dropping 60 points on the San Antonio Spurs, leading the Boston Celtics’ 32-point comeback over the Texans, doing something that nobody else did in franchise history.

The young player is the first Celtics to record multiple 50-point games in a single season, something that Bill Russell or Larry Bird couldn’t achieve during their honored careers. It was a very good moment for the 23-year-old, who also joined Bird as the only two players to score 60 in a game for the C’s.

After the game was over, he made a big revelation, explaining how comforting was to listen to his father telling him he felt very proud after his impressive performance. JT is considered one of the future faces of the league, he has been told to have ‘GOAT potential’ but this must have been the biggest thing he’s lived in the association.

“Just to hear him (say) he’s proud of me, it means a lot. Just because he never expressed that when I was younger. Not that he wasn’t proud of me, but that was just kind of his way of always telling me I needed to do more.”

Tatum entered the league in 2017 with high expectations around him. Even though people didn’t believe he was going to be this good during his first couple of seasons, the player has stepped up and is one of the most skilled players in the competition.

He’s always showing love to his family, his city, and those who helped him become what he is today. His father certainly played a big role in his development and he’s nothing but grateful that the tough coaching took him to this point.
