Forward Jimmy Butler has managed to lead the Miami Heat to an improbable Finals appearance this season, and there’s no doubt that this is an incredible accomplishment given all the team’s injuries to key players such as Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo.

There is no doubt that many people view Jimmy Butler highly, and it seems as though NBA analyst John Hollinger is one of those people. In fact, he recently claimed that Jimmy Butler is “an automatic Hall of Famer” and one of the best 100 players in NBA history.

“Jimmy Butler is among the very best players of his time, an automatic Hall of Famer and, at the very least, one of the 100 best to ever play this game.”

There’s no doubt that Jimmy Butler is one of the best players of our generation. He has made 6 All-Star teams and 5 All-NBA teams, while also making the NBA Finals twice with the Miami Heat. For comparison: Reggie Miller is in the Hall of Fame with 5 All-Star appearances, 3 All-NBA selections, and one NBA Finals. It is clear that what Hollinger is saying about Butler is correct.

In the playoffs, Jimmy Butler averaged 27.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 5.9 APG going into Game 5 of the Finals. He has clearly played at a superstar level in the playoffs and should be a consensus top-10 player in the league.

Stephen A. Smith Doesn’t Think Jimmy Butler Can Be The No. 1 Option On A Championship Team

Even though Jimmy Butler is a fantastic player, there are some who doubt his viability as a No. 1 option on a championship team. One of those people is Stephen A. Smith, who suggested Butler doesn’t provide the same offensive production as other top-tier players.

“You think about superstars and what we usually get from those superstars in terms of offensive production, that’s not Jimmy,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take.

It will be interesting to see if Jimmy Butler ends up helping the Miami Heat survive Game 5. He has definitely shown up in the clutch for the team in the past, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
