Superstar Jimmy Butler has managed to lead the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals this season, in an improbable run that started in the play-in tournament. There is no doubt that the team has relied on his offense to get to this stage, and he’ll need to give them insane production on that end of the floor to stand a chance against the Nuggets.

In Game 1, Jimmy Butler struggled offensively, only scoring 13 points and getting 7 assists. It is clear that Butler needs to be better to give them a chance in Game 2, and he admitted that much himself, noting that his driving to the basket makes things easier for his teammates.

“I’m going to continue to play the right way,” he said per Ira Winderman of The Miami Sun Sentinel. “I’m going to pass the ball to my shooters the way I have been playing the entire playoffs, the entire year.

“But yeah, I think I’ve got to be more aggressive putting pressure on the rim. I think that makes everybody’s job a lot easier. They definitely follow suit whenever I’m aggressive on both sides of the ball. So I have to be the one to come out and kick that off the right way, which I will, and we’ll see where we end up.”

There’s no doubt that when Jimmy Butler is aggressive, it opens up opportunities for his teammates on the offensive side of the ball. Hopefully, we see him go out with an aggressive mentality in Game 2, as it’ll give his team a chance to win on the road.

Jimmy Butler has averaged 22.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 5.3 APG for the Miami Heat. He is clearly extremely valuable to the team on both ends of the floor, and they need him to be a superstar to make the Finals competitive against the Denver Nuggets.

An NBA Scout Believes Jimmy Butler Is Now A Top 10 Player

Jimmy Butler’s regular season production didn’t necessarily suggest that he is a top 10 player in the league. However, his performances in the playoffs have proved otherwise, and an NBA scout has recently declared that he has gone from top 20 to the top 10.

“Before this run, I would have said he’s a top 20 player in the league,” the scout told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “He’s got to be top 10. His competitiveness is top three, the will to win is All NBA quality. And he does it when it counts. A little surprised where he has gotten them. His record speaks for itself.”

Even though some still believe that the Miami Heat aren’t a top-2 team in the league, their run in the playoffs has shown that they can perform when it matters most. That all starts with Jimmy Butler and we’ll see if he can keep it up.
