Joakim Noah Changed His Opinion On Cleveland After DeMar DeRozan And Zach LaVine Receive All-Star Calls: “Maybe Cleveland Is Not That Bad.”

3 Min Read

Chicago Bulls icon Joakim Noah starred in a viral video recreating his infamous comments about the city of Cleveland and how boring it was. The French big man lived an intense rivalry with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, showing his disdain for the city whenever he had the chance.

A couple of years ago, when the Bulls tried to dethrone LeBron in the Eastern Conference, Noah made some comments that still resonate with the people of Cleveland to this day.

“I’ve never heard anyone say, ‘I’m going to Cleveland on vacation.’ What’s so good about Cleveland?”

The 2022 All-Star Game is celebrated in that city a couple of weeks from now. The Chicago Bulls’ dynamic duo of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine earned the call for this year’s edition of the big game, prompting the Bulls to celebrate by bringing a known face.

Noah recorded a new video where a reporter asked him the same question he was asked a couple of years ago, but this time his response changed a little.

Reporter: “Do you regret anything that you said about Cleveland?”

Noah: “Not at all.”

Reporter: “I mean you think it’s cool?”

Noah: “I’ve never heard anyone say, ‘I’m going to Cleveland on vacation.’ What’s so good about Cleveland?”

After those words, the video shows highlights of DeRozan and LaVine’s impressive season with the Chicago Bulls, as to what Noah didn’t have more remedy but backpedal.

“Maybe Cleveland isn’t… It’s not that bad,” he said. “Have fun in Cleveland, guys. I’ll be in Mexico with a margarita.”

This once was a big feud. There was no love between the Chicago Bulls and anything that had something to do with LeBron James. Noah always embraced that rivalry and that led him to make his infamous comments about Cleveland.

Things have changed now that he’s retired, but it’s only because two Bulls will visit the city to defend their team. In case he makes it to the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse instead of Mexico, it’s highly likely that people will boo him nonstop.

Meanwhile, DeRozan and LaVine have demonstrated the Bulls are legit this season, taking them to the top of the Eastern Conference, looking like a real threat for their rivals.
