John Wall Responds To Rumors Of His Trade Request: “No Comment.”

1 Min Read

Star point guard John Wall has been the subject of countless trade rumors this offseason, stemming from his apparent trade request earlier this month.

Publicly, the Wizards have denied any attempts to trade their disgruntled star, and it’s looking increasingly likely that he starts the season with the team.

When asked outright if the reports about his trade request were true, Wall simply refused to comment, echoing further uncertainty as the next campaign inches closer.

The 5x All-Star has been the face of D.C. basketball since 2010, and it’s clear he has formed a long-lasting relationship with the community there.

Wall, 30, has an extensive injury history that includes knee surgeries, hand fractures, and (most recently) a ruptured Achilles tendon. He hasn’t played a game since December of 2018.

As he prepares to make his return, the Wizards are hoping their backcourt duo will vault them into the Eastern Conference playoff picture. From there, they can (hopefully) continue to work their way up by acquiring assets and making trades.

Unfortunately, all of that is under doubt at the moment, as it seems at least one of their two stars has already checked out.
