  • Jordan Clarkson helped the Philippines win their only game of the FIBA World Cup in a 96-75 win against China
  • Jordan Clarkson scored 34 points and missed just seven shots in the whole game in a spectacular performance
  • The Utah Jazz star had 20 points in under four minutes in the third quarter of the game

Jordan Clarkson has been playing for the Philippines at the 2023 FIBA World Cup without much success till Saturday. The Utah Jazz star had an explosive 34-point night as the Philippines beat China 96-75.

What made Jordan Clarkson’s night even more special was that a big chunk of his 34 points came in the third quarter in an unbelievably short amount of time.

Clarkson scored 20 points in under four minutes, something that has to be seen to be believed.

Jordan Clarkson began by making some tough buckets inside when the score was 51-48 in the third quarter of a close game. He then went on a personal 20-2 run, completely swinging the game in favor of the Philippines.

Clarkson’s torrent of massive plays included four three-pointers, including some incredible deep ones. He also put some tough finishes and free throws together to cap a scorching four-minute spell that won his team the game.

Jordan Clarkson is known for being an elite scorer and a bucket, but 20 points in four minutes are ridiculous. To put it into perspective, that kind of scoring rate would mean a player could score 240 points in a game if they kept it up.

NBA Fans Were In Awe Of Jordan Clarkson’s Game

NBA fans have seen moments like this in history, Klay Thompson’s 37 points in one quarter and Tracy McGrady’s 13 points in 33 seconds come to mind. That is an elite list of names for Clarkson to have joined. And he got a lot of love for it.

There has been debate about whether NBA champions can be called world champions, and according to one fan, this proves that they can.

While a lot of fans may not exactly know what is happening in the FIBA World Cup when it comes to the Philippines, one fan explained exactly how this occurred.

While Jordan Clarkson hasn’t quite blossomed into a star in the NBA, he has been very good for years and is a winner of the Sixth Man Of The Year award too. And one fan thinks he’ll eventually get his in the NBA based on this performance.

Jordan Clarkson couldn’t stop the Philippines from being eliminated from the tournament, but he averaged 26.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, an impressive summer for sure.

Jordan Clarkson Is Locked In With The Utah Jazz For Another Three Years But Could Move Soon

At 31 years of age, Jordan Clarkson is now officially a veteran in the NBA.

He would be the ultimate bench weapon for any contending team, but the Utah Jazz have locked him up on a 3-year, $55 million deal

Jordan Clarkson could find himself on a different team come the trade deadline, and there will certainly be a big demand for his services halfway through the season.

The Utah Jazz have a nice group with him, Lauri Markkanen, and Walker Kessler, but there is little chance of them contending for the championship.

Jordan Clarkson has said in the past that his idol is Kobe Bryant. While he isn’t good enough to lead a team to a championship, perhaps a huge supporting role in the coming years might be on the cards.
