  • Draymond Green and Jordan Poole have a bit of a contest in the NBA 2K24 trailer
  • The duo’s beef has been incorporated into this year’s version of the game
  • The fans have been waiting for a Warriors vs. Wizards matchup in the 2023-24 season

The NBA 2K24 trailer promised scintillating gameplay, and one particular segment in it set the internet into a tizzy as it featured Jordan Poole, now with the Washington Wizards calling for isolation against his former teammate, Draymond Green.

The Green-Poole dustup was one of the major headlines ahead of the start of last season, and now their beef has carried over to this year’s iteration of the popular game.

One of the clips shows Poole in his Wizards uniform iso against Green. He’s seen gesturing for a clearout before stepping back and draining a deep shot.

The duo’s infamous punch-up finally ended with the Warriors trading Poole for seasoned veteran Chris Paul. And by the looks of it, fans don’t have to wait till next season to see a Wizards vs. Warriors clash.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Poole has chosen to shift his focus solely on having a good season with Washington. Earlier, he was asked about Green in an interview, and he completely ignored the question and dished out a different reply instead.

“We’re in Washington now. Playing with Kuz (Kyle Kuzma), great duo,” the guard said, via Anthony Slater. “Help a new team, lead an entire group of guys. It’s a challenge that we’re up for.”

Be it in the 2K24 or in the 2023-24 season, the Poole vs. Green clash will be one sizzling contest.

Warriors GM Reveals Why He Chose Draymond Green Over Jordan Poole

Newly-minted Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. was tasked with a big decision to make this NBA offseason. In the aftermath of a brutal defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs, a change had to be made.

In the end, he chose to trade Jordan Poole and essentially stuck with the proven core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Financially, there wasn’t much room for a contract of Poole’s size and it ended up being the key determining factor.

“I think the biggest thing really is just financially we’re in a position where we had to make some decisions,” Dunleavy said, via The Athletic. “I think we were able to make a decision where we could free some of that while also still being highly competitive and having a chance to win a championship. It just ended up having to be a decision we had to make and so be it. At the same time, we needed to get Draymond back, what he brings to this team, and what he has meant for the last 10 years. That’s going to keep going. That matters. So we prioritized that.”

Now, the focus will be on the trio, with Paul in tow to see if they can go the distance. As for Poole, this is an opportunity for him to team up and play some quality ball with Kyle Kuzma and see how deep the Wizards can go in this season.
