Featured as one of the main attractions in All-Star weekend in Utah, New York’s Julius Randle will be making an appearance in Sunday’s big game for just the second time in his career.

Averaging 24.7 points and 10.8 rebounds per game on 46% shooting, Randle is having a career year and was an easy choice to represent the Knicks in the All-Star game.

In a new twist to the format, we won’t know which team Randle is on until the night of the game, but we do know which team Julius has thought the most about ahead of the special event.

According to Randle, he wants to be on Team LeBron, and it’s for a very particular reason.

“I wanna play with Bron, PG, start with those two. I got a relationship with P and I never played with LeBron, so, it would be fun to do before he gets his old ass outta here.”

Julius Randle would like to play with LeBron James and Paul George at the All-Star Game. Why LeBron?

Randle is actually a former Laker himself and was drafted 7th by the team in 2014. After breaking his leg during his very first game, Randle missed his rookie season and returned the following campaign to average 11.3 points per game.

After four full seasons with the Lakeshow, Randle signed with the Pelicans ahead of LeBron’s takeover in 2018.

Looking back, it’s hard to think about how much has changed for both Julius and the Lakers since they were on the same side, but it would be cool to see him and LeBron finally play together since they never got the chance to do it as Lakers.

Is This LeBron’s Last All-Star Game?

At 38 years old, it’s not out of bounds to question how much longer LeBron James can keep playing at an All-Star level. Father time is undefeated, and even James will have to call it quits at some point.

But this season is proof that LeBron is still very much one of the best players in the game, and as long as he’s playing, he will continue to make sure he’s one of the best in the world.

If not, and the decline begins, LeBron’s reputation and fame as one of the All-Time goats will ensure the keeps getting fan votes no matter what his game looks like.

So the odds are certainly looking good for Randle to team up with King James, if not this year, then surely over the next few seasons.
