Son of former Laker and NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has reportedly been arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the local news source KTLA, the stabbing took place around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar, 28, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was released that same day after posting bail, according to Carrie Braun with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Abdul-Jabbar’s neighbor suffered multiple injuries and was able to take himself to the hospital. The victim is expected to survive.

Deputies took Abdul-Jabbar into custody without incident.

No other details were provided about the incident, and Braun said a booking photo would not be released.

Nobody from the family has made a statement yet, and the verdict is still undecided as the investigation is ongoing. As for a motive, no theories or comments have surfaced yet.

Last we saw Adam, he was a competitor with his dad on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

It’s an unfortunate situation for the Jabbar family, who have always prided themselves on upholding values and helping their community. Though Adam has been remained largely out of the limelight, it seems he will be the face behind the family’s biggest new controversy.
