Karl Malone: “Chris Webber And Charles Barkley Were More Talented, But They Didn’t Outwork Me”

Karl Malone has been very active in recent days, talking about a variety of topics, including his rivalries during his playing days. Of course, Malone talks about Michael Jordan, but that topic opens the door for more discussions, including other rivals.

He appeared on a recent episode of Barstool’s Pardon My Take to take some shots at some of his former rivals, including the greats Charles Barkley and Chris Webber. At some point, he named three players who were more talented than him but assuring they never outworked him during his NBA career.

“I’m going to tell you three guys that had more talent than Karl Malone — Chris Webber, Derrick Coleman and Charles Barkley,” Malone said. “More talent. More talent. But, they didn’t outwork me.”

“I would never use the term, ‘He was better than me,'” Malone explained. “More talented is different.”

Malone is a Hall of Famer, just like Barkley. As for Webber and Coleman, they haven’t been immortalized yet. Webber has more chances to make it than Coleman, but his enshrinement in the Hall of Fame is still pending. Plenty of people think he has the stats and the impact on the game to make it, but we’ll see.

Malone never won a championship in the NBA, but he’s considered one of the best players of his era and one of the best in his position. It’s hard to disagree with him on his claims, but even if you did, that wouldn’t change his mind.
