Kelly Oubre Jr. was not happy with the officials in charge of the Philadelphia 76ers’ 107-108 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Oubre would go up to all the referees after the game and call them b**ches while pointing at them individually.

During that rant, Oubre was joined by Nick Nurse, though the 76ers head coach didn’t start hurling abuses at the referees. The franchise was upset with a no-call on a buzzer-beating effort by Oubre where he was subjected to heavy contact by the Clippers’ defenders.

The post-game report has already confirmed that the referees did miss a foul on this attempt.
“On the last play on the floor, in real-time the crew interpreted that play as the defender jumping vertically. However, in the post-game video review, we did observe some slight drift to his left by the defender George, and a foul should have been ruled.”
Oubre put up 17 points and 11 rebounds in this narrow loss, as the 76ers fall further behind the race for the No. 6 seed in the East without superstar Joel Embiid. The 76ers swingman will likely be subjected to a fine or some sort of consequence for this profane rant at the officials.
The 76ers Need Joel Embiid To Return
Joel Embiid hasn’t played an NBA game since January 30 when Jonathan Kuminga landed on his already injured knee and sent him to the surgeon’s table for meniscus surgery. He was expected to be back towards the end of the regular season and now we’re in the final stretch before the playoffs.
The 76ers’ 39-34 record is good enough for the No. 8 seed. If this stays this way, the franchise will likely have to fight through the play-in just to make the playoffs. If Embiid returns for the final stretch, the 76ers could make up the 1.5-game gap they have to the No. 6 seed. Or else, Philly could hold Embiid out till the last second and hope his presence gives them an easy win to secure the No. 7 seed.
Nick Nurse has confirmed that Embiid has a very high chance of returning before the playoffs, so we’re likely in the final stretch of games before the 76ers have their star big man back.
The 76ers are 26-8 with Embiid this season and 13-26 without him. He drastically changes the outlook of the team, and Philly could re-emerge as a threat in the East if Embiid is healthy enough for the postseason.
