Kendrick Perkins On Clippers’ Future: “The Clippers Are Going To Break This Up Whether You Like It Or Not. I Heard From The Inside Source They’re All Going To Break This Up.”

The Los Angeles Clippers suffered a painful defeat against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, blowing a 3-1 lead and looking totally lost in Game 7 against Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and co. The team is now facing a huge backlash for underperforming in the bubble. They were seen as favorites to win the title and now that dream is over.

After the elimination, everybody is trying to guess what is going to happen with the Clipper and their star players. Doc Rivers was reportedly confirmed as the head coach of the team for next season but now the question is whether Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will stay teammates next campaign. According to Kendrick Perkins, the team is going to shake things up this offseason, trying to assemble the best possible team to win it all next year (1:00 mark).

“But listen, here’s the thing…the Clippers are going to break this up whether you like it or not,” Perkins said. “I heard from the inside source they’re all going to break this up. They are going to break this up,” Perkins said on Wednesday’s edition of ESPN’s The Jump.

Leonard and George struggled to be their best version against the Nuggets, especially in the second half of Game 7. They only managed to score 24 points combined, shooting extremely poor from the field. It remains to be seen what approach the Clippers will take next season. This campaign they were a deep team, with the right pieces to beat their city neighbors Lakers and that could have been their biggest mistake.

We’ll see if Perkins was right or if the Clippers will keep a big part of their current roster.
